Yung Filly to be retried on 3 rape charges in Australia

British social media celebrity and rapper Yung Filly will face a new trial on three rape charges in Australia, according to ABC News. The entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was told on Friday that prosecutors plan to retry him after his first trial ended without verdicts on those counts.

Barrientos recently completed an eight-day trial in the District Court of Western Australia in Perth over allegations connected to a music performance two years ago. A jury found him guilty of two assault charges for allegedly causing bodily harm to a woman, then 20, in a Perth hotel room in September 2024.

Jurors cleared him of choking the woman and of four rape charges, but they could not reach the required majority verdict on the remaining three rape allegations. Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told Judge Linda Black that the alleged victim, who cannot be identified, is prepared to give evidence again if the case is retried.

Barrientos will be sentenced for the assault convictions after the retrial. No date has been set for the new trial. According to ABC News, he had been free on bail since being charged and was allowed to return to Britain for several months.
