English pop band The Hollies have announced that their touring days are coming to an end after 64 years, according to Stereogum.
In a post shared on Instagram, the band said guitarist Tony Hicks is stepping back from touring because of health issues. Drummer Bobby Elliott is also retiring from touring, the group said, out of respect for Hicks and their long history together.
The Hollies began in Manchester in 1962 and became known for a string of hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including “Bus Stop,” “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” “Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress),” and “The Air That I Breathe.” Graham Nash was once part of the group before leaving in 1968 to form Crosby, Stills, & Nash.
According to Stereogum, The Hollies played their final show in Scottsdale, Arizona, this past January. That performance was a short four-song set and marked their first return to the stage since their 2023 tour.
