Foo Fighters performed a special set with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl on August 22, according to NME. The show also featured members of the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, with Gustavo Dudamel conducting.
The concert was part of events celebrating Dudamel’s 17 years as music director of the LA Philharmonic. Foo Fighters played 15 songs in all, mixing well-known tracks such as “All My Life,” “The Pretender,” “Learn To Fly” and “Best Of You” with deeper cuts from their catalogue.
Among the rarities, “I Should Have Known” was played for the first time since 2012, “Razor” returned for the first time since 2006, and “Home” was performed for the first time since 2007. The band also dedicated “Aurora” to late drummer Taylor Hawkins.
They closed the show with “Everlong” as fireworks lit up the sky over Hollywood. NME noted that Dave Grohl had previously played with Dudamel and the orchestra at Coachella 2025, and that Foo Fighters are currently touring in support of their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy.
